An otherwise simple action premise is utterly in ragdoll archers, a physics-driven archery game. Every match has an unplanned, comedic flavor because the game relies on ragdoll physics rather than clean, regulated animations.
The ragdoll’s body could contort, spin, or fall in an unforeseen way if an arrow hits a limb. Improvisational strategy is further complicated by the fact that the optimal shot may not always be a fatal one, but rather one that confuses the opponent to the point that they tumble downhill or hang off a ledge. The setting becomes an active participant in the fight, influencing the player’s strategy via influencing the soft-bodied characters’ interactions with the surroundings.
