Bella Roza, a Bukharan Jewish restaurant located in Rego Park, has been temporarily closed by the Dept. of Health.
Bella Roza, located at 63-52 Booth St., was closed after receiving 43 violation points in an inspection on May 17.
The restaurant was cited for several violations, including mice or live mice.
The inspector described the following sanitary violations, with the first two listed as critical:
- Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
- Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
- Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
- Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained and/or not properly sealed, raised, spaced or movable to allow accessibility for cleaning on all sides, above and underneath the unit.
